Permits Depend on Where You Live

Coweta County has several permitting authorities. Unincorporated areas are covered by Coweta County Building Permits and Inspections at 22 East Broad Street in Newnan, which uses SAFEbuilt for plan review and inspections. Incorporated towns issue their own permits. The City of Newnan Building Department is on LaGrange Street, the City of Senoia handles permits at City Hall on Main Street, and the Town of Sharpsburg, Town of Turin, City of Grantville, City of Haralson and City of Palmetto each publish their own permit forms or processes. Moreland Town Hall is the starting point inside Moreland town limits.

Mailing addresses do not always match town limits, so the correct office is not always obvious. We check the parcel, file with the right authority and schedule the inspections our work requires.

Who Supplies Power in Coweta County

Electric service in Coweta County comes from several providers. Coweta-Fayette EMC is a not-for-profit cooperative serving much of Coweta and Fayette counties. It is headquartered in Palmetto and has a branch office on Temple Avenue in Newnan. Georgia Power serves many other addresses. The City of Grantville and the City of Palmetto run their own municipal electric systems for customers in their service areas. When a job involves a service upgrade, meter base or reconnection, we coordinate with whichever utility serves your meter.

Services Across Coweta County

From Historic Homes to New Construction

Coweta County’s housing ranges widely. Newnan, Senoia and Grantville have National Register historic districts with homes from the 1800s and early 1900s. Small towns like Moreland, Turin and Haralson have historic centers surrounded by rural land. Large parts of the county have newer subdivisions. Each brings different electrical needs. Older homes often need grounding, panel replacement or rewiring. Rural properties often need feeders to barns and shops or well-pump circuits. Newer homes usually need EV chargers, extra lighting and surge protection.

Storm and Outage Readiness

West Georgia thunderstorms and the occasional ice storm can cause long outages, especially in rural parts of the county. A transfer switch lets you run a generator safely without back-feeding utility lines. Whole-home surge protection helps protect appliances and electronics from voltage spikes. After a storm, we can repair damaged service masts, meter bases and exterior wiring so your utility can restore service.

How a Typical Job Works

  • You call, text or book online and describe the problem or project.
  • A licensed electrician comes out, tests the circuits involved and checks the panel.
  • We explain what we found and give you a clear recommendation and price.
  • With your approval, we do the work, pull any required permit and schedule inspection.
  • We test everything, clean up and walk you through the result.

The process is the same whether you are in downtown Newnan or on a rural road near Haralson.

Why Coweta Homeowners Call Us

  • Licensed and insured electricians
  • 2-year warranty on our work
  • A local office in Newnan, not a call center
